BEHIND THE CHAMPIONS

Biography.

Brian Cohen is a Philadelphia-based boxing manager, trainer and former professional fighter whose career also includes promotional and matchmaking work. His experience spans competing in the ring, preparing fighters and managing professional careers, with a particular focus on women’s boxing.

Cohen boxed professionally from 1995 through 2010. His supplied BoxRec record lists 15 wins, two losses and no draws, with 14 knockout victories and one additional no contest across 18 bouts. On May 9, 2009, he stopped Robbie Tovar in the first round in Philadelphia to win the vacant WBC Continental Americas Light Heavyweight title. His final listed appearance was a no contest against Taito Ratuere in New Zealand on August 21, 2010.

After his fighting career, Cohen developed a management stable through Empire Management. Split-T announced his addition in December 2019, describing his experience as a manager, trainer and cutman. He joined the company to work with CEO Dave McWater on fighter development. Published reporting identifies Cohen as a manager with Split-T; an ownership position is not established by the sources used for this profile.

His supplied management record includes Kali Reis, Mary McGee, Ebanie Bridges, Tiara Brown, Oshae Jones and Mary Spencer, among others. His connection to UBF champions includes his work with former UBF World Middleweight Champion Kali Reis. Reis’s published career biography places Cohen in her corner for the November 2016 Christina Hammer bout and describes their management relationship developing afterward. This recognition does not attribute Reis’s earlier February 2016 UBF title victory to Cohen.

Cohen’s supplied BoxRec records also document three matchmaking events in Philadelphia in 2009 and three promotional events at the city’s 2300 Arena between September 2024 and May 2025. Together, these records reflect a career extending from professional competition into fighter management, corner work and event organization.
