Cindy Serrano and Heather Hardy honored by the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame
The UBF congratulates Cindy “Checkmate” Serrano and Heather “The Heat” Hardy, members of the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame’s 2026 induction class, and recognizes their championship careers.
Two accomplished fighters with distinct paths through the sport, Cindy “Checkmate” Serrano and Heather “The Heat” Hardy are members of the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame’s 2026 induction class. The ceremony is scheduled for October 10 at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
For the Universal Boxing Federation, their recognition carries a special connection. Serrano won UBF world championships at super featherweight and lightweight, and also captured the UBF International super-featherweight title. Hardy held the UBF International super-bantamweight championship. Their UBF records reflect two different championship journeys, each part of a larger career in women’s boxing.
Serrano built a reputation as a skilled, determined competitor whose career took her into major championship contests. Her induction recognizes a body of work that spans years in the ring and helped earn her a place among the sport’s celebrated champions.
Hardy’s journey brought her from Brooklyn gyms to high-profile bouts and world-title opportunities. Known for her toughness and willingness to meet demanding challenges, she became a familiar figure to boxing fans and an important part of the sport’s modern story.
Their careers also intersected through family and the ring: Amanda Serrano, Cindy’s younger sister, met Hardy in a 2019 world-title bout. Now Cindy Serrano and Hardy share another milestone as members of the same Hall of Fame class.
The UBF congratulates Cindy Serrano and Heather Hardy on this well-earned honor. Their inductions celebrate their accomplishments and the lasting place they hold in boxing history.
The Universal Boxing Federation proudly recognizes both champions and their contributions to the sport.
